We caught Farmers Wife live — a five-piece powerhouse from Austin, Texas — and sat down with them after the show to talk about their latest EP Faint Illusions, the rush of being on the road, and how their setlist builds to pure, unfiltered release.

Band Roster:
Molly Masson – vocals, guitar
Jude Hill – guitar
Derek Ivy – guitar
Jacob Masson – bass
Jaelyn Valero – drums
First Tour Impressions
"The first day of tour is like the first day of school," Molly says. That mix of walking into the unknown, yet intrigued and excited for what's ahead.
They hit the road with Boston Manor, Spaced, and Ellis — an absolute killer lineup. Each band brought its own energy, but there was a shared thread running through every night: a love for music that's raw and unfiltered. "My favorite part of tour was bonding with the other bands," says Jaelyn. "We clicked right away and it made tour really fun."
Toronto was another highlight, and for most of them, the first time playing in Canada. "Hearing people in another country who know the words to our songs… it's surreal," says Molly. "That feeling was really mind-blowing and heartwarming."

Faint Illusions
The EP is a glimpse of the band's DNA — weaving shoegaze, grunge, and a dark, fairytale edge into something entirely their own.
That spirit carries into everything they do, especially on stage. "Let your guard down, have fun, be whoever you want to be… you're in a safe place," says Jude Hill.
That message bleeds into their live set.
"The progression of our show is an active dismantling of a farmer's wife," Molly explains. By the final track, the character is "disheveled. Crawling on the floor. Screaming."
It's catharsis in real time, a reminder that feeling weird, loud, vulnerable, or unhinged is absolutely okay.

And the live show doesn’t just capture the spirit of the recordings — it amplifies them. Each track felt sharper and louder in person, carrying an energy that recordings alone can’t fully hold. Molly’s command of the stage was unmatched. Hands down, it was one of the most magnetic stage presences I’ve seen all year!
Merch! Merch! Merch!

It's chaotic, cathartic, and an absolute pleasure!
